Posters may have opened the door to Wes' artistic abilities, but they certainly weren't the only character in the room. Wes has enjoyed creating unique ink drawings and ink and watercolor art for many years. Carolyn had been an acrylic on canvas painter and digital poster artist before learning to create ink posters.
Since about 2009, the two joined Moonalice Poster artist team and found they enjoyed each others company at events. They even met a couple of times in New York with the Moonalice poster artist group for art shows. Left stranded with adventurous minds in New York on one of those trips, they partied through with their fellow poster artists during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. They'd been evacuated from a hotel just across the street from the famous dangling Crane visible from the hotel window, there was fear that the crane would explode on the street below if it fell!
In the beginning Carolyn worked with Wes through her digital art which included a cover Wes created for Rolling Stone Magazine. By 2014, when visiting Carolyn in Fairfax, California at her home/studio, Wes transformed her art style into ink on paper with a poster lesson. Soon after, Carolyn moved to Missouri, the two merged as art partners, both working on the ink designs together.
Carolyn later returned to California and opened Carolyn Ferris Art Studio in downtown Fairfax, where she had a design/gallery studio by day, (by appointment only) and art classes by night and weekends taught by some of the best artists in the Bay area. Finally settling in Chico, CA. Wes continues to live in Missouri.

Carolyn joined the Moonalice artist pool in 2009, and has created over 100 posters for Moonalice and Roger McNamee and others, within the Moonalice group she is known as the Queen of Surreal. An acrylic on canvas painting became her first poster in 1997 for Prodigy at the Warfield. She created the world's first singing canvas painting to illustrate Roger McNamee's song Silver Lining. She has worked with the Fillmore, Santana, Widespread Panic, and many other bands. She has enjoyed creating interactive paintings with Timothy Leary, as well as creating many illustrations for his published writing. Wes Wilson taught her how to create ink posters during a visit to California and later she moved to Missouri and became art partners with Wes Wilson. Carolyn returned to Fairfax, California where she has opened Carolyn Ferris Art Studio until finally settling in Chico, CA.
